Social media needs to be managed properly in every athletes life, because distractions in the outside world can take a toll on somebody whether they show emotion publicly or not. Facebook and Instagram are two great resources to have if managed right, and yes people are going to talk about you but that is part of the world, there will ALWAYS be people that will cheer you on, but forget who you are when you hit rock bottom which is a trend in today’s society that effects teens greatly due to “Fake” friends. We have all been there athletes or not. I remember in High school I would have a game where I threw for 350 plus yards and 5 tds, then the next week I threw for 250 and 2 tds against the #15 team in the country and beating them, yet people were saying I couldn’t succeed in college playing, well I proved them wrong the next year at MGCCC. Teens should use social media, but should also understand the positives and negatives of having an account.

Wide Receiver Knowledge

What’s up guys, it’s Hunter Collins again, and today I’m going to inform you on Wide Receiver traits that are key to the position. Whenever I threw my shoulder out, and tore my labrum I student coached at Holmes for a year coaching wide receivers, and learned a lot of information about the position. It’s simple, slow feet don’t eat. It is all about quick feet, and quick nature, running the route tree at your particular school smooth and precisely. It should be so smooth that it looks like the receiver running the route is gliding in the air. Another key emphasis and looking through the catch and securing the football. As Antonio Brown looks in the picture, you can see his eyes are directly on the football, and you can see he doesn’t emphasize on catching it with the palms of his hands, but with his finger tips this helps him develop better catches in games (which he has proven due to him being the NFL’s best receiver). Wide receivers thrive in an offense of their scheme and personnel. Wide receivers have to be able to block for guys running the ball, and to make the big 3rd and 12 catch to get the first down with 37 seconds left in the ball game when your team is down by 1. Again if anybody who reads this has a question about drills, position specifics, or just overall football email me at anytime at collinshunter28@gmail.com. Football players should limit their use of social media at all times to limit out distractions so that they may function and thing better during practice and gameweeks.

Quarterback Security

What’s up guys, my name is Hunter Collins, and this post is about teaching proper quarterback mechanics. My experience was a 4 year varsity starter, a year starter at MGCCC, and threw my shoulder out at my second college of Holmes CC. With the quarterback, footwork is KEY! If you don’t have footwork, it simply might not be for you. Balance is also key, you never want to be off balance throwing because at that point you are either throwing it to high or to low, therefore 50% of the time resulting in an interception. A proper throwing motion can be developed, and the most key thing with throwing mechanics is throwing where your receiver is going to be, by transitioning the weight from your back foot forward (you can see all my weight is in my back foot and i will transition it when I throw it), and following all the way through to make the throw complete. Quarterback comes with repetition, it is the most vital position on the field, and often times is how you win or lose games. You must be able to thrive under pressure, and to keep composure. I hope I have informed you on vital information, if anybody has any questions about any particular area of football email me at collinshunter28@gmail.com
